The ES 237, what is involved in getting the numbers?

What should be counted on the ES-237:

•  All community club members.

•  All leaders and volunteers.

•  All youth who receive 6 hours of programming using our materials and/or staff.

•  All adults and youth who receive leadership or parenting (or other educational) training.

•  All 4-H youth groups which are structured to provide an educational environment.

What should not be counted on the ES-237:

•  Members of other youth groups (FFA, for example) who are in the database simply for the purpose of mailing labels.

•  Staff members.

•  Youth whose educational programming doesn't meet the 6-hour federal criteria.

•  Activities which are primarily promotional or recreational, not educational.

•  Adult groups (Extension Council, etc.) or groups which were formed as a convenience for mailing labels (swine derby weigh-in, etc.)

What does Blue Ribbon count?

•  Status : New, Return, Terminated

•  Category : All except Other

•  Groups : All except “Not a Youth Group Unit”

•  So, if you have people/groups that should not be counted on your ES-237, be sure that you label them with a Status, Category or Group designation that is not going to be counted.
